Mondo Racks Good, Poles Bad, 6.13.2008

We ordered two sets of the Mondo Racks to allow our digital media to hang behind our Solvent Printer for easy access. The racks and mounting brackets are of a very strong, clean construction. They're easy to line up on the wall, and it's simple to change the racks position on the bracket. However, mounting hardware is NOT supplied, which makes sense, as the supplier can't be certain exactly what type of surface you plan to mount the racks to. My biggest concern with this set up is the quality of the poles given to actually support the vinyl/media. The poles are comprised of two aluminum sections that are capped at the far ends and joined by a small white "coupler" in the middle. All the pieces fit fine, but finished pole is very weak at the join and sags. I have been able to support small rolls of material on these poles, but there's no way that they would support a full roll or digital banner or similar media. I'm now in the process of replaceing the stock poles with 2-3/8" U-Channel Steel Piping. Now I just have to rig a pivot mechanism to allow the rolls to turn. In short, I'm having to customize this setup far too much.
