Perf means perforated. Perforated vinyl has holes down each side of the vinyl every inch or so. Certain types of vinyl sign cutters require perforated vinyl to track accurately. Many 15" and 30" widths of vinyl come in perforated only... but sometimes you have a choice.
Non-Perf means non-perforated. Non-perforated is the exact opposite. No holes, and designed for friction feed cutters. Most of the cutters sold today are friction feed. Friction feed cutters can use both perf and non-perf vinyl. 24" wide vinyl is always available in non-perf. Some 15" widths allow you a choice. All things being equal, if you own a friction feed cutter, the non-perf is your best choice.
