We've expanded our line of Sawgrass desktop garment decoration packages with the new RICOH Gxe3300N and Gx7000 ChromaBlast-R and SubliJet-R packages. R is for RICOH. Subtle huh? :-)
The printers and inks are in stock and Sawgrass is offering two free ink cartridges to anyone who upgrades from an older Epson platform (i.e. C88, C120, 1280, 1400 or 1800) to a new RICOH system.
Why switch?
• No clogging: The RICOH uses a new gel-based ink --hence the name "Gelsprinter"-- that doesn't clog. Based on my experience with an R1800, if you're printing all day, eventually, some nozzles would clog and cleaning and nozzle check would have to be done. Not so with the RICOHs. So you have more trouble free operation and fewer transfers lost to sudden banding caused by clogged nozzles.
• Lower cost. The Gelsprinters use comparatively large ink cartridges. So your image cost goes down. Based on Sawgrass estimates for the older printers vs. the new ChromaBlast-R, the average cost for an 8" x 10" image drops by 55%.
• Faster Print speed. The Gx7000 spits out an 11" x 17" transfer is less than a minute; noticeably faster than the same graphic coming from our R1800 demo. The official output estimate is over 135 prints per hour for the Gx7000 and 144 for the Gxe3300N.
So, if you're still considering getting into full color T-shirt printing, you might want to look at one of these new RICOH systems. We're still uploading web pages, so the GXe3300N packages aren't online yet, but I can tell you that they start at under $500, so they're very affordable.
The Gx7000 packages start at $1,499.00 for the basic package. The Deluxe is $3499.0. The two free ink cartridges will eventually add $180 in value to the equation. ( I say "eventually" because you get them one at a time on your first and second reorder)
