Default Miscuts and cutter blade dragging over material

I have been using my Vinyl Express cutter for about 6 months now, and it has always had a problem of miscutting the project and allowing the cutter to drag across the material when relocating. Usually having to cut 3 or 4 objects or letters to get a usable one. I have tried another usb cable and tried different speeds but nothing has proven to give me reliable useable projects. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so what is the solution, if there is one.

I had the same problem. They mention it in the user guide and instructions but its more prevalent than they lead you to believe. The problem is in their USB to serial converter. The plotter is a serial device, and the USB interface has to convert the USB style commands to the serial commands and in those translations there are some errors.

What I did was get a third party USB/serial converter cable with standalone drivers. Now the USB/serial adapter is doing the translating and I can use the serial cable that came with the plotter. In effect, the plotter does not know it was ever a USB communication because the adapter driver is converting it, and the plotter is more consistent.

    Hope this helps...
