MACal® 8900 PRO are calendered soft vinyl films coated with a semi-permanent acrylic adhesive giving excellent dimensional stability. MACal® 8900 PRO have been specially developed for trouble-free computer cutting and fast weeding, even for small letters and fine lines. Furthermore, if required, these films can be removed from the substrate, without leaving adhesive residue, for periods of up to 2 years after application. Application is possible at temperatures down to 32°F.

CONSTRUCTION
Face material :
Calendered vinyl film, 2.75 mil thick, cadmium-free.
Adhesive :
Semi-permanent solvent based acrylic adhesive.
Liner :
Highly stable 135 gsm white kraft paper with green back-printing.
For white vinyls the liner is coated with a grey silicone coating to improve the contrast with the film color.

NB : CONTRAST ensures a clear view during the stripping process therefore improving productivity.

The colors reflected on your computer screen are approximations of the actual colors.

I have been using Oracal 631 for years and just tried the Mactac brand. So far we have not had any issues other than the HT55 app tape we use does not stick to the backing at all. It peels and lifts easily crinkles against the Mactac backing. It did not have this issue with Oracal 631 backing. I'm going to order a different app tape to see if I can resolve this issue. Just FYI :)

[Thanks for your feedback regarding HT55 tape and MACtac 8900 vinyl. Based on my testing here at SignWarehouse, the best tape to use with either ORACAL 631 or the 8900 is Main Preview Plus GXF101. It's a high tack clear tape engineered specifically for wall graphics and performs superbly. For more information about it, please refer to our blog post here.
For a paper based tape, we've used various paper tapes with the MACtac. The best was the Main PerfecTear Plus GXP-750 medium tack tape. But, since the MACtac is easier to remove from its liner than ORACAL, the tape is not quite as critical to success with the MACtac as it is with 631.]
