Solution

Cannot Open Port

 

When sending from the Cut / Plot window, you receive the error: "Cannot Open Port"

 

 

  1. Check the connection between the cutter and the computer.  Unplug the cable from both ends, then securely plug back in.

 

  1. Check to make sure you are setup on the correct port.
    1. Checking Available Ports in Device Manager

 

  1. Clear Preferences
    1. Close all windows.
    2. Click Start, All Programs, VE LXI, Clear Preferences.
    3. Click Yes.

  1. Disable all startup Items
    1. Close all windows
    2. Click Start, Run.
    3. Type: msconfig

    4. Click OK

    5. On the System Configuration Editor, click Selective Startup and uncheck Load Startup Items

    6. Click OK and Restart the computer.

  1. Try with a different cable / computer.

 

  1. If using a USB to Serial adapter: Reinstall Drivers
