PreviewPlus High Tack Clear Application Tape
PreView Plus GXF-101 is see-through film that is static-free for easy transfer. When you need an extremely aggressive tape for decals or a font with little serifs, especially six inches and less, this tape will suit your needs well. It lays flat on most liners and is perfect for close registration on very small decals.
Great features of the PreView Plus GXF-101 include:
- The ability to pull apart when it is stuck to itself
- Minimal errors in applying graphics, decals and RTAs
- No adhesive residue left behind

This application tape works great during the warm months. Never had a complaint. However, since it has gotten cold I've received three complaints of the tape not sticking to the vinyl. The vinyl sticks well to the tape and comes off the backing paper easily prior to rolling it up for shipment but three customers state that they had a rough time getting the vinyl off the backing paper because the tape isn't sticky enough after they receive it. I instruct customers to leave the decal flat for a few hours prior to applying it.

For use with Oracal 631 - But too high a tack?
I recently purchased GXF101 for use with Oracal 631 for interior wall lettering and graphics (as recommended here: http://www.signwarehouse.com/blog/?p=2535). I wanted a clear transfer tape (nicer product presentation for customers) that would not tunnel when rolled up for shipping. This seemed to fit my needs perfectly and I was pleased with the results at first. There is still quite a bit of static, so a little extra care should be taken when applying to the vinyl, as opposed to other tapes. The real downfall was with application. Since switching this transfer tape, I have had many customer complaints about not being able apply their vinyl. There have been many issues where the tape cannot be removed from the wall without also removing the vinyl. So far, I have found this tape to be too aggressive and does not have an easy, clean release for use with matte vinyls.
